Prom Queen An Evening in Paris was the theme of the 1960 Jtmior- Senior Prom. Many guests were present and a wonderful time was had by all who attended. Representing the senior class in royalty for the event were princesses Patt Hurt and escort John Caster, Joan Skov and Charlie Warren, Marilyn Hixson and Dean Lamp, and Julie Ashton with Rick Burns as her escort for the evening. After the girls were presented with a lovely bouquet of chrysanthemums, Steve Howell, junior class president, placed the queen's crown and robe on Marilyn. Queen Marilyn's formal was of white organdy trimmed with blueg the over skirt was scalloped around the bottom. The robe was of a brilliant purple edged with white maribu feathers. When the robe was placed around her shoulders, she shed tears of joy. The huge gym was gaily decorated with bright colors while from the ceiling hung the traditional white parachute for a very effective Parisian sky. Along the sides of the gym were sidewalk cafes open for refreshments at all times. For the queen's throne, the juniors constructed the famous Eiffel Tower. All of the decorations were under the direction of Gary More . To a school, these people are of most importance. They are the ones who do the work behind the scenes. With- out the help of the cooks and janitors, a school would not be complete. Well kept lawns and shrubbery are accredited to the janitors. Mrs Brenner is the woman who is always waiting for the dirty towels from the P.E. rooms and Mrs. Barnes and Mrs. Ayres are the two ladies who prepare the food which is served at lunch time. ', 60-Sdztvrs 1796011 That Wonderful Year of 1959 and 1960 will forever be remembered by the students of Crater High School. Many delightful events filled the calendar to its height. All, from freshmen to seniors, had their days brimming and overflowing with every- thing from Football to the J unior-Senior Prom. We, the editors of the Constellation for 1960, would like to express our gratitude for all who helped us with our work on the annual. Without the help of those certain people, the yearbook would never have been nearly as elaborate and different. We have thoroughly enjoyed putting together this annual and hope that you will enjoy it and cherish it always. SANDY RENFROW LEA PADGETT n 147 THIS YEAR HAS BEEN A PROFITABLE YEAR FOR THE ANNUAL.
