Crater High tied for fourth place in the safety contest, sponsored by the American Motorists Insurance Company, last year. .high schools from 42 states entered this contest. . Crater received S62.50, which was used to buy a file cabinet for the Journalism classes. . . we were the only school in Oregon that placed in the contest. . .many schools larger than Crater were entered in this contest and we won over most of them. . .this is some- thing we all should be proud of. Last fall the Crater High students, along with the Cen- tral Point Jaycees, launched a campaign to buy a football scoreboard. . . they were able to do this with the help of the Medford Coca Cola Bottling Company, who contributed 1500 family size bottles of coke, and the students and Jaycees who went from house to house selling them for a donation of one dollar. . .every- one working together made this campaign a big success.
