Thus even the humblest is given equal opportun- ity with his higher-ranking fellow men. ln the American high school, each student is classed, not according to prejudices, but according to his intel- ligence, his ability as a leader, his character, and other evidences of his good citizenship. Beginning here at Cranston as a lowly Sophomore, one may advance him- self by effort and perseverance through a Well balanced curriculum of required and elective courses to the rank of Iunior and then to the exalted rank of Senior, finally attaining his ultimate goal of graduation. Throughout his course, each has the right of representation in the student council and the right to choose home-room, class, and student council officers, and each class has its share of school officers. Thus the most obscure Sophomore can make himself at graduation the school's most distinguished citizen. if , H. l f ' . .'.1ltt1x-.-XF l mm nm l I 1 mammal 11,3 ft. wx sf fx, nlmnn, ' 9 F , . ll IL 2-T'-ff - - 4 V Y-- - i ux- of :-1: T yi-lf: jfs- .,?v ., .1 i Zn ............l -3-
