Crane1 s track team took part in five meets during the 1961 season. The opener was a dual meet with Burns in which the Highlanders evened the score for their defeat in 1960. In the next meet, Crane placed second against Prairie City, Hereford, and Mt. Ver- non in a quadrangle affair at Prairie City. The Mustangs had to settle for third in a triangle meet at Burns with Burns, Prairie City, and Crane taking part. At the Tri-county League meet, Crane took third honors. Two big meets in which the Mustangs participated were Boise Junior College Invitational and the district at Umatilla. Letters were awarded to Ray Dunten, Walt Mace, Wess Mace, Dorman Miller, Norman Miller, Carl Schnabele, Frank Skinner, Junior Smith, and Jack Valentine. Hurdles, Carl, Frank, Lorin, Wess, Jim.
