0Cl L ST DIE I We arc growing up in this age of opportunity and responsi- bility. ln a few years. the older generation will have passed on. leaving to us thc duty of carrying on the American Tradi- tion of a free democracy. of preserving our ideals. and remedy- ing our faults. We cannot possibly hope to fulfill these duties without a complete knowledge of our present instittltions and the under- standing of how tl-ey have come to be what they are. Only by thc means of social studies will you be furnished with the story of the precious inheritance you have received from the builders of our nation. Only by this method can one be provided with the background necessary for the wise preservation and improvcntcnt of his heritage. flrzoluciz fltmmrza IVHANK tiunris tIr:1:tl,lA tftr'l'm Grioaot-1 Davis JonN Ili-:l.ANm' REGINA Devim: firmer: thu fIu.uu.es Dunn JOHN Esrosno PAUL Femuzu. In order to study a nation's behavior. we must study its habits and language. Unless we do this we will not find ourselves fully prepared to meet the challenge offered by the strife and unrest which is so prevalent in the world today. f In order to fully comprehend many personal situations in our dealings of the future in business. science or politics, it is imperative that one possess fine linguistic ability. 13
