John Gravittcr is still looking for a gal to take over the Dress shop. Hope he is making as much progress as he did in school! ! ! Betty DeHart has moved to Laona now. but she said she'd be back to vote for Whitcy Fannin, who’s campaigning for the sheriff’s Job. Well. Mac cr. I mean Lorarinc McMillion and a blond guy arc going to take over the management of the Hotel at Crandon. She’s finally going to settle down. Did you hear about Jeanette Hoffman, the nurse? She’s vacationing at the Pine Lake Resort, which was bought by Harland Burmiester last fall. She said she’s having a grand time. Lawcrnce Jaeger and Wilmore Kegley have bought a big 300 acre farm and arc sharing their large profits with their wives. Miss Lillian Brouillard is teaching at the Grade school and is living with her brother John. But I suppose that you have heard about him taking over the Lutterman Hardware. It was quite a while ago. At the El Rancho Grandy House, owned and operated by Pat Emerson, there was held a big party the other night. Among the guests was the District Attorney’s secretaries. Shirley Glocke and Betty Pctrlck. A modern dance was performed by Helen Weber, the guest of honor. Russell Plummer is now the sole owner of the Crandon Bottling Works on Lake Drive and has employed Herb Wagoner as one of his truck drivers. Whew! I’m out of wind. Goodness! It’s after 8 now. We better be getting home -huh. Carlenc?” The boys both Jumped at the same time and exclaimed. Come on girls, we'll dine at the Waldorf. Ready?” So down the hall four of the students of the class of old ’47 marched. Happy to have heard how all the rest of the classmates had made out. 11

CHS Senior Class Prophecy-— 7957 The appointment was at 5 p. m. at the New York Empire Studio. High heels were clicking down the hall and slowly came to a stop at the desk of the receptionist. “I have an appointment to be at Room 13 at 5 o’clock. Would you kindly announce that I am here?” Mr. Limond, a model to see you.” Send her in. WOO! WOO! Haven’t I seen you somewhere before? Why, of course, it just dawned on me. You're the Carlenc Fulk of the old class of ’47. Sit down ole pal and tell me-havc you seen any of the rest of the class?” Oh yes. quite a few. You see I just arrived with Susie Christenson, who is over at Room 17 posing for Shelby Harris of the New York Times. While we were at Crandon over the weekend we ran into I awrence Hoffman of the Employment Agency and he suggested that we try our luck here. Robert Gilbert is head of the Antigo Finance Co. and of course that’s where we secured the loan. And just imagine who was conductor on the Northwestern train. Why Ding King—of all people. I didn't think he would settle down to a job like that. As long as we’re on the subject of class mates, let’s go down to Room 17 and sec how Susie and Shelby arc making out. So together they sauntered down the hall, up a flight of stairs to where a door was ajar. There sat Shelby, feet on desk, and still puffing his old pipe. As his eyes glanced at who was in the door way. he let out a yell. Susie! lx ok who’s here. Howdy! Howdy! Come on in and sit down. We were just discussing about what Mrs. Jess Deaton (former Jean Spencer) named her last child. Well, what did she name it?” Oh. she thought that it would be nice to name it after Peggy. You remember Peggy Tallier, don’t you? They say she’s the General’s wife now. Gee Whiz.” piped up Susie. Thats just the beginning. You should have seen how radiant Joe Jeficlk’s face was the day he took over the Spencer tavern. And say! that reminds me of Ralph Chartraw. Boy. he sure is leading a dead life—caretaker of the Rusch funeral home. They had a couple of trials in the Crandon Courthouse last Friday. Judge Norman Rowlinson fined Carroll Statezny $10 and costs for speeding with his new Mercury. Lefty-King and Mark Spencer got fined too. for spotlighting DEAR. Don Kincaid is going to be our next Sammy Kaye with that swell orchestra he’s got. I heard that he’s got Merry Specht as his latest singer. I'd sure like to hear her. I saw in the Forest Republican that Eleanor Wald, telephone operator at Rhinelander, visited over the week-end with Mrs. Jess Houle (formerly Betty Bonackj at Pine Lake. Wonder how they are? Speaking of newspapers, they say Alice D'eMars is a designer for the fashion page in the Chicago Times. Elaine Radtke is in Chicago too. Studying to be a chemist. I guess. Mrs. A1 Carlson, who used to be Grace Aubol, in the good old days, has now hired Eva Ball as her baby sitter. Eva must still like that job. 10
