Although -im started lt Cranbrook as a junior, he has maele his mark on school life. His teammates elected him co-captain of the varsity basketball squad as a result of his ability displayed during his junior year. During activities period, im could be seen working in the shop where he worked hard on Page Ii-ill s homecoming display. Many boys were of the opinion that his work deserved more recognition than it received. Even with these numerous activities, ,im has found time for an active social life. im at present is considering a career in the Air Force. Basketball 5 6 fco-captainj. Cordon Lapielcs has experienced a unique high school career in that he has participated libe rally in both boarding and day boy life here at Cranbrook. But whether having a dormitory room or a home in nearby Birmingham as 'i base for operations Cordon has pursue el a well-balanced curriculmn of athletics activities and studies. In the past he has shown a marked proficiency in the lmrdles and higfh jump and has continued this vear te, contribute much to the sue-ce ss of the varsity track team. This year Gordy has made the high lmrdles and the pole-vault his specialties, Ile has also established a wiele -spread repu- tation as a hmnorist because of his work as feature editor on the Creme. In the last two years Lapides Lopes ' has seldom failed to gain favorable recognition from the student body. Considering the scope of his activities it is also sur- prising to note that Corely,, has frequently been on Honors anel has often finished his school year in this coveted status.
