'll' 'll' is'- Q S Qs: Floyd Gene Jewett Donna Ruth Biermann Richard Mitchell Floyd Gene Jewett passed away February 24, 1955, at Fairfax Hospital after a short illness. He was in the seventh grade of the Craig Grade School. Constant companion of his twin brother, and a happy, responsible student, Floyd Gene left a place no one can fill. Donna Ruth Biermann, a sunny and sweet child who delighted in helping others, died as the result of a heart operation performed at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, on August 25, 1955. Donna Ruth hoped the operation would make her well enough to live like other children. This brave little girl serves as an example to us all to live unselfishly for others Richard Mitchell was graduated from Craig High School in May, 1955 and joined the United States Navy immediately. He lost his life in an auto- mobile accident November 5, l955, as he was on his way to Crai to spend a leave with his family and sweetheart. Richard's love of home, Eis fun- loving disposition, his ability to make friends, and his patriotism to his country will long be remembered.

The unanimous decision, without hesitation or discussion, was that no words or awards could fully express to Mrs. Ida Elizabeth Parrish, teacher of the eighth grade, our devotion. If ever a teacher's life exemplified the words of the Scripture s: Who shall find a virtuous woman, for her price is far above rubies, the life of Ida Elizabeth Parrish does. Mrs. Parrish, who completes this spring thirty years of teaching, has given twenty- two years of teaching service in Holt County, fourteen of which have been in Craig. The number of students on whom her influence has fallen comes to a staggering total. Take untold patience, mix it with an abundance of love, add a keen intellect, a zest for living, a dry humor, season all with a caustic wit, and you have Mrs. Parrish--who through the years has been our friend when we needed a friendg our mother-confessor when we needed to sob out some little story of heartbreak or distress, our critic, prais- ing or correcting as we needed it, our judge, stern or lenient as befitted the case on trial, our guide, leading us to richer experiences when we thought she was following us, our TEACHER, to whom we are devoted, Mrs. Parrish.
