It was called Murder at Random and featured Jerry Bittner as Harold, a typical high school boy, left alone in a New England farmhouse with an assorted band of murderers and their corpse. The play was presented April 22 and 23 and was enthusiastically received both evenings by the large crowds. Working on the play was a rewarding, enjoyable experience for all connected with it. Many seniors were able to participate in the production by being on the committees and by displaying their talents during intermission. The faculty sponsor was Mrs. Cavanaugh and the student director was Ellen Troppman. Sa . is hw!!!www !!!w. Sandy Schooley We completed a successful junior year with poise and eagerness to inherit the charmed title of senior. We feel we have earned the respect of the school in our first role as upperclassmen. In our fine class play we proved our Worth as actors. Our majorettes and cheer- leaders, by their enthusiasm and strong school spirit, were a great asset to our class. We proudly cheered our athletes on to victory in all school sports. We sponsored a lovely prom, and with great delight displayed our class rings. Now, most of all, we relish the thought of reaching the summit of our careers at CHS, and look forward to those ever-famous words, Seniors first. No longer were we only spectators, but now we took an active part in everything. Our boys were well represented in foot- ball and basketball and some of our girls made the cheerleading squad and majorettes. We were proud of our swinging folk-singing group, the Ridgerunners. However, we also spent plenty of time in classes. We had a new kind of English class with Mr. Chieffe and many 'of us tried our hands as chemists. Everything was exciting and now, with these pleasant memories behind us, we eagerly anticipate our Junior year. Homeroom 502--Fir.r1 Row: M. Finley, L. Eckert, M. Goodall, K. Mahaney, V. Bean, J. During American Education Week the cho- rus sang for parents and friends visiting the school. Then together with the Junior High Chorus, it presented a Christmas program of both sacred and secular music. Much time and work were spent on the annual Spring Festival in May which was received with much enthusiasm. The chorus increased in number this year and the members had an enjoyable and sometimes hectic time practicing for the Programs. SENIOR GIRLS' SEXTET: Louey Munro, Elaine Grant, Kassy Meannor, Ellen Troppman, Eileen Pendergast and Nancy Thomas combined their talents to form a sextet. Not only did they sing in the choral programs and school assemblies, but they also received invitations to sing for church and women's groups. , , Y l MR. After a successful exhibition season, the Cougars had a disappointing record in tough B-22. Never lacking in offense, many times they lacked defense against strong opposition. Although their record is not the best, it is not a just indication of the hustling, scrappy ball played by our boys.
