The Language Arts Department functions under the guidance of Miss Green, English chairman, and of Mrs. Bruce, foreign language chairman. As a section with which all students must come into direct contact, the Language Arts Department exerts a great influence. All English instruction has as its aim teaching communication characterized by clarity and effectiveness. Many stu- dents reap future career benefits from the Erench, Spanish, or Latin courses which they now take with great interest and enjoyment. Speech, dramatics, and jour- nalism are ungrouped electives offered. Students may also participate in pub- lication of the literary magazine and year- book.
