Our First Family 1976-77 Yes, that was a very good year. For we, just as any other school had the usual administration, staff, curricu- lum changes, additions, subtractions, improvements, etc... And our exciting year all began with the news of our New First Family—Mr. james Going and his wife, Gail. Although he is not a newcomer to our community, he was recently promoted to a higher position— SUPERINTENDENT-but he has served with us for six years in the capacity of principal. His limited leisure moments are spent as Royalful Master at the Masonic Lodge in Guthrie, President of the Coyle Lions Club, Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department and hunting and fishing. Gail teaches a class of twenty fourth graders. She enjoys basketball, volleyball, sewing, camping, and many other things outside. 4 It is evident to anyone who knows her even for a short while that she, indeed, is the woman behind this successful man because she so unselfishly lends a helping hand when- ever the situation arises. Needless to say, she is supportive of our entire student body and school-elementary, middle, secondary, faculty, and auxiliary aids. Their son, Franklin, has attended all his school years at CHS and at the present time he is in the 6th grade.

Our Second Family Before the beginning of our 1976-77 school year we learned that we would be getting a new Principal and that it would be none other than OUR OWN Mr. Donny Darrow. Besides taking care of his principal duties, Mr. Darrow is also a coach for the high school girls basketball team, the baseball boys, and the 7th and 8th grade boys and girls basket- ball team and has done a good job at all of these. Along with coaching, Mr. Darrow teaches high school Health and Drivers Ed. He also enjoys watching T. V., playing golf and anything that has to do with sports. Mr. Darrow’s wife, Carol, also is a teacher here at Coyle and Mrs. Darrow teaches the 6th graders. Some of Carol’s hobbies are playing the piano, playing volleyball, and she loves to watcfr T. V. soap operas and is addicted to them; she also dislikes cooking. Mr. and Mrs. Darrow are both two very nice people and are very helpful and kind to everyone, and hopefully will stay with us for many more years. 5
