0u£ 'With In with the Q'blO the c SlD So here’s to Coyle High School, We know that you lead all the rest, We’re gonna sing and shout our praises, We're gonna do our very best, Rah! Rah! Loyal to our colors, We will never meet defeat, So here’s to Coyle High School, You’re the school that can't be beat! Rah! Rah! The idea arose in 1924 to build a school for the com- munity. The work began and a $30,000 bond issue was passed. The school was built in the spring of 1924. The graduating class of 1924-25 consisted of 6 Seniors. In 1939, the WPA (Works Progress Administration) remodeled the school and Auditorium. In the fall of 70-71 Meridian and Coyle were consolid- ated. To accommodate the growth, a four room building was built in the summer of 71 for the 1st-4th grades. In 1972-73 another consolidation took place-Langston and Coyle. To accommodate still further growth, in 1973 a 6 room building was built for the 5th-8th graders. Now in 1976-77 a new school is being built. The plans have been drawn up and approved and will soon be put into action. In the fall of 77” the high school students will return to a new building and a brighter future. Out with the Old, in with the New ... this is a coin phrase which is continually evident in our community. 24
