CLASS HISTORY In September 19 7 our troop set out on an expedition Our goal was to climb Graduate Peak atop Senior Mountain even though the rocks might be rugged,. There were thirty-six members in our troop all of whom had just finished a long climb over Grade Moun- tain This gallant troop was led by Fannie Bentley. Assistant leader was Patty Bodine, Secretary was Charlene Henderson and the reporter was Rae Dean Lambdin. Scout Masters were Mrs Addle Payne and Miss Pearl Ramsey. Members of the troop were as fol- lows: Lyle Allison, Jack Bailey, Euellene Barnes, Don Boyd, Verma Lee Cantrell, Donna Lou Churchill, Bert Coffman, Donna Davis, Raymond Hicks, Cledyth Ingle, San Kinney, Bonnie Longan, La Verne Long, Don Luster, Oneta Majors, Eugene Goble, Frances Pearce, Davie Pyle, Doris Warren, Earl Watkins, and Bill Whitmore. Betty Jacobs from the New Mexico troop joined us on our climb of Freshman Mountain but had to return to the New Mexico troop before the climb was finished. Also on this climb La Verne Long and Bert Coffman fell from the path and were lost to the troop. The highlights of this climb were the initiation by Troop Four and Pat Smalley and Mary Dry were crowned King and Queen of Carnival Mesa In May, 19 +8 thirty-eight of us sucessfully made the climb and were ready to rest for awhile before going higher, September, 19b8 found us starting up Sophomore Mountain. Our leader for this climb was Pat Smalley, Assistant leader was Perk Carrier, Our Secretary was Donna Lou Churchill and the Reporter was Rae Dean Lambdin., Our Scout Masters were Mrs, Jeanne Brown, Mrs. Ester Hitt, r»nd Mrs Glendora Jacor New members who .joined us here were Dale Schroeder from the Guthrie troop, Betty Hunt from the Orlando troop, Percy Carrier from the Hinton Troop, and Barbara Gentry from the Maysville troop. One of our troop, Verma Lee Cantrell stopped in the Valley of Marriages and became Mrs. Leroy Emerson and did not finish the journey with us. Frank Jackson transferred to the Stillwater troop; Barbara Gentry to the Maysville troop; Louise Rollins to the Spark’s troop; and Gerald Gish to the Perry troop. Don Boyd discontinued his journey to become a member of Uncle Sam’s Troop, Again on this climb two of our members reigned as king and queen on Carnival Mesa on Sophomore Mountain, They were Percy Carrier and Fannie Bentley. We finished this climb in May 19 9 with thirty-six mem- bers still in good standing. We started the climb of Junior Mountain in the fall of 19 9 We were older and more experienced climbers so on this the third successive time our troop’s canadates were elected to reign over the festivities on Carnival Mesa. Our king was Davie Pyle and our queen was Euellene Barnes. Then too, we stopped for awhile at Acting Gapv Here our troop performed with distinction in a comedy-drama called Meet Uncle Sally . While down in Banquet Canyon amid the fragrance of Roses in soft mellow moonlight we entertained the members of Troop Four. Again this journey fin- ished in the springtime—May 1950.
