The College continues to emphasize services to students which include programs outside the classroom. We in Student Services are happy to be working with these programs, which we feel are so important. Our two counselors, Hope Steiner and Forest Smith have been instrumental in many Student Service efforts. They have been especially active this year in developing a program of career information. Jerry Mullen, serving as financial aids director had his biggest year for aids and awards for students. Irene Cleveland served as bookstore manager for the first semester and Chris Hill took over for the second when the facility was moved to an improved location. Chris also served as our Tiger Action Club sponsor and did supervisory work in the recreation program. A new secretary, Lou luden, served the Student Services staff during the year, and Dr. Otis LoVette, the Dean, decided to give up his Kotter image and picked up the Smith Brothers look. Dick Carson, director of community relations, had a busy year, spent a lot of time on special photography work, and increased publicity for College events. Linda Hargrove continued the development of a comprehensive recreation program, while coaching three women's sports. She joined the full-time faculty during the spring semester. All in all, it has been a busy but prosperous year for Student Services. Otis K.
