Nw. Wm PRESIDENT AND WIFE HONORED A dedication dinner was held September 19, 1977, in the student center, by the College Endowment Association to salute Dr. and Mrs. Gwen Nelson for their involvement in the past 10 years in community and college projects. Among the proiects noted were the purchasing ot Galle Johnson Hall, the purchase ot the Renn Library site, and the construction of the college physical education building. Also, mention was made of Mrs. Nelson's care in improving the college grounds without pay. In honor ot the Nelsons, the College Endowment Association named the student center, the Nelson Student Center,

t t, There are many rewards for a college president, but the greatest thrill of all is to see former students climb to the top of the success ladder In my ten years at Cowley County Community College, it has been a sincere pleasure to observe our graduates as they become leaders in medicine, law, teaching, the arts, business, and industry. Along the way, many earn distinction in athletics, dramatics, music, scholarship, and other college activities. My hope is that the College has been, and will continue to be, a vital part of these success stories. The very purpose of our being is to provide whatever support we can to help out students achieve their goals in life.
