The ensemble made over thirty-five appearances this year. V-01 , -wwe The Choir under the direction of Mr. August Trollman and accompanied on piano by Marla Fhonsen included students from CCCC who were able to blend into Gann Riley Holt and Godwin rounded out the Boys Quartet. Throughout the year the choral groups of CCCC entertained at various events. This year those involved found the Choir with a very full schedule. During the fall term they presented an opening concert, a talent show, Thanks- giving Rejoice, Christmas Program and performed the folk-rock musical Tell It Like It Is at three whirlwind performances. Second semester followed the same route with one performance after an- other. Over thirty-five appearances by the Choir made them both well-known and well-traveled among clubs on campus. The Girls and Boys Ensemble later to be dubbed the Tiger Tones were also directed and sponsored by Mr. August Trollman. The group entertained at many varied programs and at all times showed the vivacious spontanaiety and enjoyment for singing.

Wa- a 5 Letterman's Club, a relatively new organization at Cowley County Com- munity College finds itself playing an active role in the college campus life this year. Requirements for eligibility in the Letterman's Club require that a letter be earned by the person during the college year. Letterman at CCCC have earned their letters in football, basketball, baseball, tennis and golf with many of the members holding dual letters in two sports. CCCC is also unique in that the Let- terman's Club is Hliberatedf' Both men and women active in sports are invited tojoin. The Club has had a great deal to do with promoting school spirit through- out the school year. Activities under the direction of Bill Hackathron included the selling of Tiger Buttons during both the football and basketball seasons. One of the biggest money-making projects of the 1972 season was the tak- ing over ofthe Sonic Drive-ln Res- taurant in Arkansas City for the pur- pose of earning money for the school sports activities. BSE X Lettermen The Black Student Establishment is an organization open to students of all races. The club's main purpose is to bring about self identity and to help people of all races to do their own things, yet in harmony. The Black Stu- dent Establishment sponsored many school activities. They sponsored a Cul- tural Minorities Week. Special days were set aside for special recognition to different races including Indians, Mexi- cans and Negroes. Several prominant speakers were heard and panal discus- sions were held. Displays of art done by and about different races were dis- played throughout the school. At Thanksgiving, the BSE sponsored a food drive, and collected a basket of food for a needy family in Arkansas City. The members pictured are: Bot- tom, Connie Byrd, Traviata Morris, Virgil Watson, Lew Rowe Jr., Velma Crawford, and Randy Watson. Top are Smiley Barnes, and Don Bourland. ig
