During football season it was decorating goal posts and marking stadium sections for each game. Then came the decorating of halls and windows for the Christmas Season. They trimmed the tables and assisted with the Foot- ball Banquet. They planned all pep assemblies and ushered at all games and plays. Closing the season they sponsored the election of an athletic queen. THE TIGER After two years under the caption TIGER RAG the staff decided to drop the RAG and thus the yearbook was re-christened for the current year. Richard Rickel started out with the ground Work then transfer- red to Pittsburg State and the work was completed under the direction of Bill Walker and Staff. THE BA D OF TIGERLA D Never in the illustrious history of our fair school has there been such an aggregation of accomplished musicians as has donned the Orange and Black this year. They have been the vanguard of our gladiators and marched triumphantly through the streets of fallen foes. Their dulcet tunes of jazz and sugar-blues have fallen upon our ear, and their fendifion of the Tiger-song has made many an enemy shake with fear! Joyce Clark, iuco sophomore, was crowned Queen Alalah XXIII before a capacity crowd at the Auditorium- Gymnasium. The Queen's attendents were Terry I-Iodkin, Myra Morrow, Margaret Shea, and Donna Winton, all sophomores at the junior college, who were all in the running for the coveted crown. Students who took part in various other parts of the coronation program were the 'juco Choraleersn, which was a double quartet of the college vocal department. Other members of the music department who partici- pated in the Coronation, were the 'Juco Jamboree , and the 'Classic Cap ers , a modern dance team. Joe Herr, student council president, and Harry Diamond, assembly chairman, were the masters of cere- monies, and introduced Queen Alalah XXIII and her court and the twenty-six visiting queens.
