lt rs now the year 1970 and our fatthful sponsors 'ylrs Lorton and Mr Shoot have decrded to make a VlS1I to Cowden lllrnors where they had taught school a few years before They are brought from thetr home towns on the latest Jet atrltne by Leota Sarver the chtef prlot for Douglas Atrcraft and they are very well taken care of on therr trrp by Martha O Kelley the stewardess on the plane Leota and Martha are sttll found to be rnseparable Ther are met at the arrport by Iunror Carlrsle who rs now the Mayor of Cowden They are escorted to the Cowden Hotel by State Trooper Justtn Cochran At the hotel they are met by Mtldred Mtller the manager of the hotel As she was escortrng them to therr ro rms thev run rnto Vance Blrckem home on leave fro rr the Martnes Mr Shoot then decrded to go to the gym and after enterrng he ound Ronny Bolt the manager and IHSUUCIOF of Judo and wcrght lrfttng Mrs Lorton then went to the beauty salon of whlch Joy Tucker was the owner After returnrng to the hotel she dectdeo to call and make cservatrons for the stock car races of whrch Phyllrs Adams ts a hrgh rated drrver whtle talktng to the operator she recognrzed the votce of Betty Bates of the Bell Telephone Com pany Mr Shoot and Mrs Lorton then went to the professtonal basketball game where Larry Holley was coach and Ann Cochran The All Amerrcan Cheerleader On thelr return to the hotel they had an accrdent The Doctor called was Charles McM1llen and Glenna Doty and Margaret Yarnell were hrs asststants as nurses They took the wrecked car to Cox s Implement Company of whrch Flosstla Gregg was secretary Later they consulted a lawyer who happened to be Earnte Bennett one of therr meanest puprls ID school Mrs Lorton then went up town to do some shopptng She went tnto Cochran s Grocery Store owned and operated by Nlr Roy Cochran There she met Mr Rodney Compton buyrng supplres for hrs company whrch rs butldmg a brrdge north of Cowden and Rodney 1s chref engrneer Nlr Shoot and Mrs Lorton decrded to vrsrt school They were shown around by the homemaktng teacher Mrss Joy Zander the Engltsh teacher Marcra Cochran and the Secretary Mrss Dorrs Hodson Mrs Lorton decrded to buy sotne clothes and went on to Eula s dress shop where M 1ss Joyce Shrlde was a model On therr return to the atrport Mr Shoot and Nlrs Lorton decrded to vtsrt the DuPont factory of whrch Carolyn Smrth ts Prestdent Mrs Lorton and lx r Shoot were happy to have seen all the members of the class of 59 and wtll cherrsh the memortes connected wrth thrs frne group of boys and grrls that have now found therr places tn the grown up world as ctttzens E I , ,l . . f . 1 - - 1 , . 1 1 I j . . . . . rg , ' - vl ' V . .
