flllzrss new The time of parting is drawing nigh, We are sad to leave dear old Cowan School XVhen we as Seniors must say good-bye, Who have these years obeyed her rule. Who for four years have gently toiled. Hut other Seniors must take our place, And around this school ourlove have coiled. And we pass out with all our grace. As we are leaving. lct us recall When we as Freshmen met in the hall. Green Freshmen who would knowledge gain, And to be Seniors was our aim. The next year we as Soph's did start, Alas, at last, we reached our goal, Into this school to play our part. And our names as Seniors did enroll. Then on to Juniors we marched along XVe had at last the grand old name And next year Seniors was our song. That bore with it both grace and fame. Now there was Charlotte, great and tall, XVhose chief delight was basketball. lint sehool work you could in her find, A very great and steadfast mind. Next, Lenna with her rosy cheeks, Nowthere comes l.ossie.whose great delight The sweetest girl one ever meetsg XVas to have in his mouth a pipe. One who does not in Physics find liut one whose heart was ever large, Enough to bother her little mind. And many friends were in his charge. Then Clinton, of a studious mind, The smartest boy you ever find, XVho is inclined to bashful he. XVhen ere he chance a girl to see. Now lidythe would her grace employ liut now on Syble let us dwell, To make a hit with some nice hoyg The one we all admire so well. But we all would her kindness lose, The girl whose very thoughts and life, If from those hoys a mate she'd choose. Would make some man a handsome wife. Then on we go to .lim Barefoot, W'ho does not like his Civics book, But to be an artist grand and true Is the future that's in store for you. let us from .lim to Vance Hayes go. An old maid in our class must be, The friendliest person you ere could know. And so of course it falls on me. A hoy who would great laughter bring One who has ambitions great and grand, XVhen ere he did attempt to sing. Cannot he bothered with a pesky man. So now about Flora l will relate, How she professes the hoys to hate. But as a musician she goes through life, She'll find that it's better to he someone's wife. Now then we have just come to Frank, At last we come to Mable, dear, Vt'ho many of us consider a crank: NVho is ever by our side to cheer, liut out of the Future we're sure he'll make Although she's only had lovers four, The greatest philosopher of the state. She has made a show of love to more. Though many have fallen out on our Way, We have had enough patience to stayg And so we say our sad farewell To the dear old school we loved so well. . -Mildred Holsinger, '1-1.
