Woods and Drafting Woods class introduces students to basic woodworking techniques. In first year woods students must make a minimum of four regular projects, like potatoe bins, bread boxes, rocking chairs, and file boxes. The second year students have elective projects such as beds, dressers, and some refinishing. Advanced Woods is a continuation of second year woods as a basic fine furniture class. Pieces selected in Art Show qualify for craft prizes. Drafting is a basic understanding of how objects look in 3-D. Only one year is offered and in this year a student gains knowledge of mechanical drafting, multi-view projections, sketching, isometric drawing, half and full cutaway drawings, and blue print reading.
