A faculty committee began work on a program designed to benefit college-bound, gifted students. Perhaps more often than they sometimes wished, Covington students found the work load to be demanding and time-consuming. The parade of extra-curricular activities added to the challenge. i. US Air Forf 5 The 1984-85 school yeor brought mony chonges to the Covington school system. A new superintendent, Dr. Nelson Miller, orrived and Mr. Don Sram-pini served os principal in the high school for the yeor, replacing Henry Herman who resigned because of illness. Students learned to live through seven class periods eoch day instead of six, ond mony complained about o 1:00 p.m, lunch hour that lasted twenty-five minutes. Change, however, did nor mean that fun ond o bit of nonsense didn't creep into the schedule now ond then. While change was evident in 1985, one thing remained the same. High school still served as the place to build friendships and lasting relationships. The classroom and the athletic field brought students together in a unique opportunity to share experiences and memories. 8 FRONT ROW: Wes Wonderlin. Scor Brewer. Troy Bever. Tim Gee. Chris Smoil.
