Cross Country The conditioning of both mind and body is one of the chief objectives of high school athletics, especially cross country. This sport calls forth stamina that is unsurpassed in high school and separates those who want to excel from those who merely run for the exercise or because they had to. Those who really wanted to excel and were in excellent condition this year not only lettered and won trophies, but they received one of the greatest high’s” in their lives. Nine young men exerted enough energy and willpower to earn a letter this year. Seven of these speedsters went on to win the Bi-County trophy for the third year in a row. Our runners not only defended the title but defended our school spirit as well. 18
