This year the History Department welcomed two new teachers, Miss Seyglinski and Mr. Pettus, to help students learn about the different phases of social studies. Each year students study a different phase of history. During the eighth grade, students are re- quired to take social studies. Freshmen enroll in geography, unless they are taking college prep subjects; then they take world history. U.S. his- tory is the course required for juniors. The last phase of history taken in the senior year is U.S. government. A NEW TYPE OF DESK . . . Mrs. Mustoe shows her students the correct way to sit in a desk. Practical Experience Insures Jobs Did you ever wish that you could leave school early each afternoon? The Distributive Education students don ' t have to wish. Their learning experience is not confined to the six-period-a-day schedule since the DE program combines classroom instruction with the experience of on-the-job training.
