We’re The Ones Covington High School Covington, Ohio Seniors Activities Sports Clubs Underclassmen Faculty Ads 16 32 98 106 112 We're The Ones ... One For All One for all ... and all for one. Friends are a big part of our memories at Covington High School. Everybody needs a friend to go to games with, to walk to class with, or even just to chat with. Studies are better understood when one can get help from a friend. We're The Ones ... Ones To Top At CHS the students and teachers are always striving to reach the top. With our excellent academics and outstanding sports programs, CHS is truly the Ones to Top. 5 We're The Ones ... The Good, The Bad, The Ugly Ones — The good, the bad, the ugly ones ,.. Everyday at CHS we see different faces and looks. Whether receiving an A paper “the good or F paper the bad , or even being assigned a 750 word essay “the ugly . These faces will always be a part of our memories at CHS. We're The Ones ... Ones To Watch Here at CHS we are definately the Ones to watch. From the clothes, activities, attitudes, and expressions shown each day, our spirit and enthusiasm to learn is shown throughout the school. 9 We're The Ones ... The Ones To Beat More than anything else at CHS we are the Ones to Beat. The students take much pride in their athletic teams, clubs, and activities. Our outstanding performances and our reputation to win makes us truly the Ones to Beat . We're The Ones ... The Only Ones Besides all the commotion of a typical day, some students like the “peace and quiet of being alone. Whenever one walks the halls of CHS, students doing things by themselves can be seen. Some like to be alone while others find the necessity to escape from the pressures of school work and friends, Nonetheless, CHS is a place where even “The Only Ones have an important place. We're The Ones ... Homecoming 1988 Homecoming '88 took place at the Friday night football game on October 14 against Miami East and the dance following on Saturday, October 15. One such day is Spirit Week. With such days as College Shirt Day, Jersey Day, and the ever popular Black and White Day, we find many ways to let our spirit shine through. The Spirit Week of '89 proved to be a successful week and fun for all. Activities 33 Halloween Halloween is a zany time of the year when CHS students really show their true colors. There were all sorts of strange things roaming the halls ranging from nerds and gypsies to Gl's and hockey players. This is a crazy day when spirits are high and good humor flows. Our Halloween dress-up day was held on Monday, October 31. Activities 35 Christmas Christmas at CHS means hall decoration. Each class works for hours planning and decorating their special area of the school. The pride with which students display during this festive season puts CHS in a holiday mood. The “spirit of Christmas walks the halls as the classes compete for the honor of “best hall decoration. Congratulations to the Class of 1990 who were honored as this year's best. It demands a lot of time and dedication but I enjoyed it very much. First of all, my deepest thanks and appreciation goes to my co-editor and special friend, Wendy Hansen. She was full of good ideas and ready to work at all times. I'd like to thank her for all her friendship and understanding she had with me and I wish her the best always. I would also like to thank Jodi Miller who put a lot of hard work into the ad section and did an excellent job. I would like to express appreciation to Becky Finfrock and Pam Sowers who gave their time and understanding when deadlines were near. Much thanks also goes to the Ad Staff and the photographers for their willingness to help To Mr. Steve Fisher, who has been an advisor and friend. I would like to extend a huge thanks. He was always understanding patient with us and helped us with the finishing touches of each deadline. I have much respect and admiration for him and wish him the best. This yearbook was designed with each CHS student in mind. It is filled with pages of lasting memories. Good luck to the Class of 1989. May all your dreams be fulfilled. Sincerely, Lisa Mutzner 132 Wendy's Page Being co-editor of the yearbook is an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. A lot of hard work and dedication goes into the production of this book but I enjoyed every minute of it. Lisa Mutzner was my co-editor and my friend this past year. Without her help, this yearbook would never have gotten done. I could always count on Lisa for a good laugh when I was frustrated with a page Lisa was an inspiration and I wish her the best of luck. I would like to thank Jodi Miller for all of her hard work on the ad pages. She could always be counted on to have a few pages to meet every deadline My deepest appreciation goes to Mr. Fisher. He was always understanding, patient, and never had a cross word to say when things just weren't going our way. I have great respect for this man and I'm glad he could be my advisor and friend. I also express my thanks to Pam Sowers. Becky Finfrock, and Renee Voisard for their help and tolerance near deadline time. I would also like to thank the Ad Staff and photographers for their dedication and time. I hope this yearbook is full of many memories for you to treasure. Good luck and Best Wishes to the Class of 1989. Sincerely, Wendy Hansen 133 Dedication Dick Minnich Richard F. Minnich was an outstanding Bucc Booster and the cameraman for football and basketball. Dick loved Covington and Covington High School Athletics. As a Fire Chief, Dick led many parades through town honoring CHS sports teams and band. The Covington High School Buccaneer wishes to honor Dick Minnich by dedicating the 1989 annual to him. Covington will never have a more loyal booster or loved individual. All we can say is Thanks, Dick for all you did for the students of Covington High School.
