DEDICATION UICQ DORIS TROST It is an honor to pay tribute to one who has be- come such a genuine part of Covington High School. Her interests in her students and her eagerness to help them have endeared her to all who have come under influence. Because she means so much to so many. We dedicate the 1971 BUCCANEER to Miss Doris Trost. Miss Trost received her BA at Manchester Col- lege, Indiana and came to CHS in the fall of 1963 to teach classes in French and Speech. Besides her classes, Miss Trost is kept very busy by being Dean of Girls. She is advisor of T. N. T., Tri-Hi-Y and Student Council and is director of Jr. and Sr. Class Plays. Miss Trost has been more than a teacher, a friend besides. 3

FOREWORD The pathways through high school are memorable ones. We hope that through this book we have portrayed a span of these pathways to the future upon which each of us have traveled. Education is in itself a wide and heavily traveled pathway. There are many forks in this pathway -- each leading to some goal set by those who are traveling upon it. Just as some roads are unpaved, so are some pathways to success unpaved. There are many rough and threatening sections. However, if the goal is kept in mind, all difficulties can be surmounted, and the pathway will have served its purpose of furnishing a means of gui- dance. Along our journey our faculty and parents serve as guidepost. We are proud of them. Without them our trek would be futile.
