Much hard work and many long hours have been incorporated into this book: and I, as editor, wish to thank the staff and especially Mrs. Snyder for their efforts. lt is through their coopera- tion that these long hours have been filled with happiness. Happiness is an idea that we can't lay out hands on or define easily, but each of us knows within himself what real happiness is. We would all agree that this element of joy is achieved through togetherness and that our associ- ation with fellow students has brought moments of happiness to each of us. The staff realizes that everybody has a different idea of happiness, and it is for this reason that we have tried to include a variety of incidents and events in the 1967 yearbook. It is our desire that as you leaf through these pages, you will recall many happy moments. LOIS ROGERS Editor ff ' gf f ' qv-' Y ni H . RALPH E ALLMANN A great loss was felt by all at Covington High School on Friday, October 7, 1966. Ralph E, Allmann passed away at Dettmer Hospital. A Mr. Allmann began teaching at Covington High School in 1955. Not only did he teach his students bookkeeping, shorthand, economics, and business law: but he also aided the entire student body as adviser of the student council. He served as dean of boys and adviser to the yearbook staff for many years. Those who knew him realized the loss that was placed on the students of Covington High School. He was a great educator--dedicated to the teaching profession. In acknowledgement of his many contributions to Covington High School and the community, we wish to remember Ralph E. Allmann in the 1967 Buccaneer. t t t L - 2,5 19' Spy ...p 1 J: . ff' V, ,fy V, 7lT,,,: , nw-...,, K l F Q' 1 I ', x- ,, an 'sw mf , - 1' . The Chorus participated in the High School Thanksgiving program in the fall and in the Christmas and Easter programs later in the year. The Chorus joined with the band in presenting a wide variety of musical types at the Annual Spring Music Concert on April 7. Two special numbers on this program were done in Latin and German, which the chorus had to learn phonetically as none of them spoke these two languages. Three vocal students from the Music Department participated in the State Solo and Ensemble Con- test at Milford Center on March 4 and three other students participated in the'1, 300 voice chorus of the Ohio Weslyn University Music Festival on February 4 at Deleware.
