Se Uon, ----- . loton Reneto, . ,w n««K T'“'“r' As we, the Class of “55”, leave Covington High School, we take with us many pleasant memories of our school days together. “Today We Follow, Tomorrow We Lead,” is our class motto, and with a well round- ed class like ours which ranks high in scholarship, leadership, music, and athletics, we shall be the leaders of tomorrow. Sky blue and white are our class colors with the white rose as our flower. During our four years in high school we have participated in many activities to raise money for our class treasury. Every year we took part in the magazine sales, and in our Sophomore and Junior years we were high salesmen of the school. Also in our Junior year, we sponsored bake sales, sold pencils and license plates, had a scrap drive, sold refreshments at the home basketball games, and held dances after football and basketball games. In the fall of “53” we presented a mystery comedy, “Aunt Cathie’s Cat,” and the highlight of the spring was honoring the seniors at a “Mardi Gras” reception. In our final year our money making projects were the publishing of the Yearbook and the presenting of the class play. These projects helped finance our class trip to Washington D. C. and New York City. Also in our Senior year, we welcomed to our class Peter Zackenfels, an exchange student from Bremerhaven, Germany. On May 24, 1955, forty-eight seniors will receive their well earned diplomas. Of these forty-eight seniors, thirty-one have gone through twelve years of school together. It is with a tinge of regret and with a feeling of anticipation in our hearts that we leave to become a part of a new and w ider world of learning and understanding. 10
