It was almost train time when I arrived at the station. I could not drive back because my license had been suspended for three more days and I had to get back. car or no car. As the train pulled in I noticed that MARION DEAL JR. was the engineer and CHARLES WRIGHT was the conductor. Marion told me he had been an engineer for about eight years. but he wanted to retire so that he could go up north and be a lumberjack. I then said goodbye and went to hunt Chuck Wright. I found him and asked him how long he had been a conductor. He said that he had been one for about three months. He told me also this was his first job since he had graduated. He had been loafing because that had been his ambition. I went back to my seat and sat down While sitting there I happened to glance up and see Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hemm and family. The former MARJORIE KAUFFMAN. I waved to IHTDW and Marjorie came back to my seat and talked. She told me that they were on their way to Washington to see some relatives. We talked until the train started. So diary that ended my visit to my home town and all the people in it.
