Before we look aT Miss Oliva's many fine accomplish- menTs of The presenf, leT us briefly explore her colorful background. She was born in ManhaTTan, New York of a Cuban faTher and a Spanish mofher. She spenT much of her girlhood in Brooklyn and received her BA. from Brooklyn College. Her abilify To speak Spanish and French as well as English enabled her To obTain many inTeresTing iobs. Also, Traveling To Europe helped To broaden her general knowledge and inTeresT and helped To make her The delighTful person she is Today. Now she is acfive as The advisor in The Girls' League Board, devoTing much of her Time and energy. Joining wiTh iTs members, Miss Oliva has helped To make Girls' League one of The mosr useful clubs on campus. ln her capaciTy as a Teacher, she presenTs Spanish and French wiTh a unique sTyle ThaT bring The languages To life.
