We are to present Cardinal in honor ot Mr. VV. F. Otto, vice- principal and dean ot boys. His ever friendly smile and pleasing personality make him one ot our outstanding ad- nninistrators. ln 1947 Mr, Otto came to Covina as a teacher ot vocational agriculture. He immediately became active in the Future Farmers ot America, an organization well known tor its contributions toward better understanding and fellowship among the youth ot today. Mr. Otto spent much ot his time promoting this club among the boys, and some ot Co- vina's most outstanding F.F.A. groups have been under his guidance. During this time he was also president ot the So. Calitornia Agriculture Teachers Asso- ciation. ln September ot 1954 Mr. Otto became our vice-principal and dean ot boys. For two years he has served our school not only with the dignity befitting his posi- tion but with the sympathetic under- standing and helpful advice he has given to those students who needed it. lt is with a great deal ot pleasure that we dedicate the '56 Cardinal to Mr. Otto, whose wit and humor combined with a serious purpose have made him a tavorite ot everyone. In his leisure Mr, Otto finds time to enloy his favorite pastime, agriculture. A constantly ringing phone keeps Mr Otto very busy. '15 -.R
