THE FALL PRELUDE Like a bold plaid, Fall descends upon the scene and quietly vanishes the green simplicity of summer. With its somber tran- quility and panoramic boldness, it casts a magic spell over the earth that settles in a gossamer mist, the frost. His autumnal obligation fulfilled, he sets the stage for the winter drama and silently steals away. 6

A, B, C,'s . . . . . . ANTICS, BOOKS, CHATTER If one were to look in on the students assembling for back to school chatter, he might see scenes iust like these. The students often gather on the foot- ball tield to discuss new textbooks and old teachers or on the steps to give opinions of their new class- mates seen in the halls. Our boys, who take pride in their crew cuts, take time between classes to comb these curly locks for their favorite girls. Only as students work out their schedules, com- plain because their lockers haven't yet been issued, and race to be first in lunch line, do we realize that school has really be- gun.
