of- nl :I -We eff f- .Q A-1 Maj orettes This year our Coventry High School Marching Band won the all-Summit Coun- ty High School Class A Band Contest. Bands competing in Class A were: Garfield, Coventry, Cuyahoga Falls, Bar- berton, and Tallrnadge. Bands were judged according to: PERSONAL AND INSTRUMENT INSPECTION MARCHING AND MANEUVERING BEST MUSIC BEST ENTRANCE BEST EXIT ORIGINALITY This contest was the first All-Summit County High School Marching Band Contest. The contest was sponsored by the Kiwanis Clubs of Summit County. The contest took place in the Akron Rubber Bowl on Saturday, September 29, 1951. Our band won several trophies and plaques and also each band member parti- cipating in the contest received a Gold Medal.
