1988 TARTAN DEDICATION We're in this together!!! Frank A. Brock AS covEN N ' on TRAL PL YER, FBAN .snock IS ORE THA A ADMINI TR TOR No one officially knew lmtil the October meeting of the Board of Trustees who would be named as the fourth President of Covenant College. Rumors and wishes flew all over campus those few days. When the announcement was made in chapel on that Friday, Frank A. Brock and his wife Dottie made their way down the isle to the stage amist a standing ovation. With his wife at his side, Mr. Brock said in reference to his new service to the school, We're in this together!!! As the crowd in the chapel applauded, one of the newest members of the Board asked a student seated next to him, Are you pleased? The college senior stated, There isn't an unhappy heart in the whole place. That statement rings true now, just as it did then, and just as it will in years to come. N o matter what season of the year it is, we'll expect to see the Brock's on campus. From hosting the Boards of Trustees and Associates, to planting and watering the flower beds in front of Carter Hall, it can be truely said that the Brock's have their hands in every aspect of the College Life. Frank Brock can be seen in his office or in the Great Hall, having lunch with administration, staff, faculty and students. You might often catch him in the Academic Building engaged in a discussion on the latest social and political issue of the day. All this is to say that no matter where he goes, Mr. Brock generates excitement about Christian higher education unlike anyone else. What has happened here with Frank Brock fand what is to happenj will effect Covenant to the same extent which Elvis Presley affected the music industry. Which is why the TARTAN staff has not only dedicated this annual to him, but enthemed it . . .
