The CAB sponsored a lockin in order to take full advantage of the Student Senate's recent purchase of a big screen TV. They put on two movies - The Wrath of Khan and Places in the Heart and served plenty of pizza and cola. T 0 those people that like to sit around a fire and sing songs, Student Development satisfied their tastes by having a bonfire. This event was held late in the first semester and took place after a basketball game. Wes King led the singing while students gathered around the fire, sang, sipped hot chocolate and ate doughnuts. The first meal took place early in the first semester and was labelled an Hawaiian Dinner, while the second meal took place mid-second semester and was a Valentines Dinner. In each instance the Great Hall was decorated appropriately and the students were encouraged to dress according to the theme. fl ,4 is. l , lv if l a a My X H if f r i ' 'A Q 'S if X 21 .1- I Q! Fall Social Event Takes on Different Look The Social Committee took advantage of the renovation of the lobby and organized the first Fall Festival. With the carpet and furniture out of the lobby it was a perfect place to lay down some hay and have some good ole fashioned apple bobbing, pumpkin carving and pie eating contests. Other events at the festival consisted of pinata breaking, country music, a painted face contest and plenty of food. The Fall Festival was well attended and was considered by most to be a success. 'S Wi Musical Performances Dominate Talent Show The talent show this year was jointly sponsored by the Convenant College Bible Brothers and the Campus Activities Board. Most acts were musical in nature and ranged from solos, both instrumental and vocal, to group performances. Other acts consisted of comedy routines and more serious acts such as poetry reading. The first place honors of the show went to the Supremes - made up of Kiki Taws, Ann Montgom- ery and Missy Aeschliman. Second place went to James Tuten's trumpet performance while third place went to Skip Allen as Peewee Herman. 23 Late Night Goes to New York'P is fl- WT NL r 'Y ., 5 ,ma zfwtih, t E1 1 f Late Nlght at Covenant was gear mg up for a fantastxc show until a few days before the product1on a VCR and the famous Late Nlght tapes were stolen These tapes stored the humorous accounts of thelr trlp to New York City and their disappear ance put a damper on the show Desplte thls setback however the show went on and the cast simply replaced the viewing of the tapes with other skits. The show was co-hosted by Phil Bader and Hal Bowling and the Cho- sen Few Review consisted of Steve Smallman, Skip Allen, David Bird, Curt Martin, Allison Dubose and Chip Frazier. Kilter Night - Old Style Picnic The annual Kilter Night was held in the Great Hall and the theme of this girl ask guy event was a great big picnic. The girls brought picnic style dinners for them- selves and their dates while the Social Committee provided drinks, ice cream and cotton candy. Entertainment was provided by a mens quartet, Jill Vande- griff and Dameron and Halvorsen on the drums and piano. for-'I+ ,Q 3 . 1 1 R s -an-4 Vg. I Q H'-Wx. This graduation exercise was special in the fact that it was held outside, due to the fact the chapel was too small to hold the parents and friends of the graduating class, and that it marked the first graduation of the Quest Students. These Quest Students, all receiving a degree in Organiza- tional Behaviour, added thirty five graduates to the class of 1986. - Speaking at the graduation was Dr. James Kennedy of Evangelism Explosion and giving the charge to the graduates was Professor Graham. Also, at the end of the Commencement program, Rev. Glen Knecht was award- ed an honorary degree. Julie Bell Paul Bennett 3 - , Sarah Bramblett 1 and 1 Mona Keith John Briggs -H J v.-Q...
