Student Council Branches Out V? at -da- President-Stephen Brownlee Vice-President-Rob Ballagh Secretary-Treasurer-Bunny Woolwine Social Committee Chairman-Karen Pierce BELOW: David Campbell, Bob Houpt, Gil Kinch ,-with The Student Council of 1967-1968 was the focal point for much discussion not previous- ly heard around Covenant's halls. Student government-its effectiveness, its contribu- tions, indeed its very existence-was seen from a new perspective and with new serious- ness. The sizeable increase in school enrollment and the addition of new faculty members brought marked improvements and a disap- pearance of many old problems as well as unexpected headaches for the Council. Truly it must be said that this year was one of change, rapid change. To meet this change, the Council attempted to correct existing dif- ficulties in the area of student-administration communications. Also, guidelines were drawn up which at- tempted to put student government and stu- dent self-discipline on higher levels than in previous years. The overall aim was to give the Student Association a greater voice in the affairs of its school forthe future. 29
