History When we entered into our Freshman year, there were thirty-five students on roll. Our class officers were: President, Donald Renegar, Vice-President, Polly Caudle, Secretary, Nellie Groce, Treasurer, Charles Felts, Reporter, Glenda Joyner. Mrs. Ethel Brumfield was our homeroom teacher. We, thirty-one students, being fully iniatiated into high school, became full pledged sophomores. Our class officers were: President, Janet Baity, Vice-President, Jerry Kimrner, Secretary, Margaret Lunsford, Treasurer, Donald Renegar, Reporter, Bobby Dalton. Our homeroom teacher was Mr. T. L. Hanes. I Thirty students made up our Junior Class. Our class officers were: President, Donald Renegar, Vice-President, Joe Renegar, Reporter, Pat Fulk. Polly Caudle, Glenda Joyner, Margaret Lunsford, Janet Baity, Brenda Hurt, and Pat Fulk were honored by being iniatiated into the Beta Club. The Marshals were: Margaret Lunsford, Chief, Brenda Hurt, Polly Caudle, Pat Fulk, and Janet Baity. Our year was highlighte d by many special events. We gave the Seniors a lovely banquet at the MANOR near Statesville. Mr. Thomas Wooten sponsored our junior play, Tl-IE GROOM SAID NO. Other highlights of the year were ordering the class rings and making the rose chain. Mr. Thomas Wooten was our homeroom teacher. We have now reached our Senior year with a total of twenty-six students. Our Senior officers are: President, Pat Fulk, Vice-President, Brenda Hurt, Secretary, Margaret Lunsford, Treasurer, Mary York, Reporter, Donald Renegar. Our homeroom teacher is Miss Catherine Anthony. Those p arti c i p at i n g in sports throughout high school were: Basketball: Margaret Lunsford, Polly Caudle, Aileen Steelman, Ruby Horn, Glenda Joyner, Joe Renegar, Donald Renegar, Johnny Steelman, and Arthur York. Baseball: Donald Renegar, Arthur York, and Johnny Steelman. Football: Arthur York, Donald Renegar, Clarence Plott, and Bobby Dalton. Cheerleaders: Janet Baity and Pat Fulk. JANET BAITY Historian 15 .
