They were Betty Reavis, Vergie Joyner, Mary Martin, Kay Caudle, Ben Harding, Johnny Shore, Wiley Gunter, Calvin Pettit, Harold Hill, and Aldean Allen. We also had six cheerleaders, Opal Lynch, Ann Hoots, Peggy Reavis, Betty Jo Hoots, Kay Caudle, . and Violet Miller. The class elected for their officers that year the following, President, Bobby Lynch, Vice-President, Vergie Joyner, Sec- 1 retary, Mary Martin, Treasurer, Ann Hoots. During the Sophomore year several of our students began to play on the ball teams, Glee Club, and 4-H Club. Ben Harding and Betty Reavis made the first team in basketball. Opal Lynch and Peggy Reavis were cheerleaders. We had eight to drop out that year. ' . The officers for our sophomore year were President, Ben Harding,Vice-President, Tommy Baity, Secretary, Gerthie Draughn, 4 Treasurer, Ann Hoots. Our Junior year was highlighted by the Junior-Senior Banquet and the Junior Play. Two students dropped out, they were -N Billy Athen and Addie Belle Hoots. We welcomed Houston Shore and Jimmy Brawley into the class. The following were class officers: President, Ben Harding, Vice-President, Bobby Renegar, Secretary, Betty Hoots, Trea- surer, Wiley Gunter. We have now reached our Senior year. Our class istaking part in many activities, such as the Newspaper, Chapel Programs, P.T.A. Programs, Annual Staff, and Sports. We have playing onthe basketball teams this year, Betty Reavis, Ann Hoots,Vergie , Joyner, Mary Martin, Peggy Brawley, Betty Hoots, Kay Caudle, Ben Harding, Calvin Pettit, Wiley Gunter, and Johnny Shore. The class welcomed a new member this year whois Shelvie Gregory. Leading the Senior Class are: President, Tommy Baity, Vice-President, Bobby Renegar, Secretary, Wiley Gunter, Treasurer, Kathleen Gough, Reporter, Betty Jo Hoots. t . KAY CAUDLE, Historian CLASS PROPHECY . As I look into the future, l see the Senior Class of '55 scattered throughout the world. Let's see what they are doing. I see: v Ben Harding has l2 kids and is playing baseball in the National League. .X Vergie Joyner is now the new Miss America. 53: Wiley Gunter is now the new editor for the New York Times. -N X Shelvia Gregory is in Hollywood designing clothes for the Movie Stars. f Bobby Lynch is still breaking girl's hearts. s Jerlean Miller is a stewardess on the Peidmont Airlines. Q Glenn Reavis is now the author ofa new Encyclopedia. A-X 'x - Xl Gerthie Draughn is now a housewife, living in Washington, D.C. e Jim Brawley living on a ranch in Texas. Tommy Baity is now in the field of Engineering. Anne Hoots is now a private Secretary for a New York Attorney. it Frank Holden is now a Dentist in Winston-Salem. Mary Martin is now a registered nurse in Chicago. All Harold Hill is still loafing. ll Lucille Mize is now a sailor's wife and is living in Hawaii. Vernon Dixon is now Papa Dixon and plays baseball in the American League. if Peggy Lou Brawley is now Mrs., but is a Movie Star in Hollywood. F-Q Houston Shore is now supporting a wife and a family. , Kathleen Gough is now where she should be, a telephone operator. X-X 'Ji Z Calvin Pettit is still living up to his Motto: Love 'em and Leave 'em. f Harold McKnight is still running around after that girl at Boone. Peggy Faye Reavis is still running around iust looking. Z Betty Hoots has iust won a race in Darlington, S.C. V5 Bobby Renegar is still at State College, but now as a teacher. Q Opal Lynch is still busy trying to find a boy her size. Aldean Allen has iust flown to Paris, because of Women of Course. Lynette Gough is still looking and for the time being, l am wondering what the results will be. it Albert Nance is living on a farm and is happily married. N Johnny Pratt is driving for McLean Trucking Company and has a girl in every port. 7 ' Betty Reavis is playing basketball for Hanes Hosiery. David Miller is now a star football player with Wake Forest. S, x Sherrill Hutchens is now a bossman at Hanes Hosiery getting rich. . Y! Johnny Shore is playing basketball at Wake Forest College. Q Kay Caudle is playing basketball for Hanes Hosiery. Kelly Reavis is still a Lover's Boy.
