B arbara Pruitt Tpea Super .... ..... B etty Poindexter Reporter ............................................... Hazel Shore Class History We entered high school in 1949, as a group of 40 pupils, two of which we lost, John D. Baity and John Dwiggings, and one student Donald Craver trans- ferred to Reynolds High School. Three students Bobbie Hanes, Betty Poindexter and Paul Martin made the basketball team their freshman year. During the Sophomore year several of our students began to play on the ball team and to take part in the Glee Club, 4-H Club, and Debating teams. We had a few losses this year, they were: Junior Comer, Jessie Doss, Dorothy Hill, Francis Keaton, Virginia Miller, Hurley Miller, Shirley Steelman, and Hattie Wilkins. Our Junior year was highlighted by several joining the Beta Club. Ourout- standing activity was the Junior Senior Banquet. The transfers, Mary Cranfill, and Pat Poindexter were welcomed into the senior class. Two students dropped outgthey were Joan Comer and Stanley Smith. We have now reached our senior year. Our class is taking part in many ac- tivities such as the Newspaper, Chapel programs, P. T. A. programs, Annual staff and sports.
