The River, moving in graceful curves on its way to the ocean, at times calm and peaceful and at oth- ers a raging torrent, influences all of our lives. As long as it is guided and kept within its banks, the River is a gracious provider, making pos- sible the varied and abundant har- vests for which the area is so fam- OUS. ln like manner education flows through our lives, at times plunging and racing by us madly. No matter what way it may come, we must be able to control education, and bend it to our will as we have so ably done with the River. For, as in River flood time, only chaos can remain from an uncontrolled flood of edu- cation. From the control and guid- ance of the educational stream - which each individual must provide A will come far richer and more varied harvests than were ever reaped from the goodness of the River. 7wfK,Z-faggc
