Qarcward In years to come many' of us will glance Through this LA PERITA and try to recapture the memories of our high school life. lt is the goal of every annual to capture glimpses of the school year in pictures. The laughter in the halls, the pretty girls, the handsome boys, the teachers, the homework . . . all these will be iust memories in later years. No particular theme is employed throughout the book except that of our mascot, to remind you of your Charger's Life in Courtland High. Our first semester ended sorrowfully with the passing of our Principal, Mr. M. T. Hoyt. Vice Principal, Mr. M. K. Good- ridge, took temporary charge. Mr. Jack Kromrey and Miss Rose Simonelli were the new members of our faculty this year. Despite problems the '53 -'54 year ended happily. This La Perita has two firsts that it can boast. The picture cover is one, and the number of pages is the other. My sincerest thanks go to Miss Rose Simonelli, advisor, George Gould, Stan Sakata, who were my able assistants, and the rest of the staff. THE EDITOR
