Gzrls Basketball We started out our basketball season th1s year wxth a large number of g1rls They were as follows Amta Mltchell Lols Lovell Betty I-lopwood Darlene Schwalk Ann Wagner Carol Wr1ght Carol1ne Clemens Darlene Maruska Sally Barker Delores Syverson Joyce Jacobson and Dorothy Stachowslu M1SS1hg from last years squad were three ma1n players Carmen Hoggarth Joan Lochow and Ruby Stachlowslu Due to the fact of losmg these three mam players w st1ll looked forward to a very good season to Rogers we went to the County Tournament Downmg Cleveland 1n our hrst game we entered the fmnals agamst Kensal Th1s game deterrmned who would be the county champs The g1rls played wrth then- best ab1l1ty and won over Kensal 44 to 41 thus mak1ng them county champs County champs was Just the begmnmg for our g1rls We went to the D1str1ct Tournament playmg Bordulac and won 42 to Z8 We are now waltmg to enter the Reg1onal Tournament play1ng Dawson and hope to enter the State Tournament Although they are 10S1hg two mam players th1s year Betty Hopwood and Ann Wagner they are look1ng forward to another good season next year 74 I I , .t . .
