Homecominq 73. 4 The premier event of Council Magnolia ' s new football field as the third annual Homecoming, held on October 12, 1973. School spirit reached an all time high as the Magnolia Raiders achieved a hard fought victory over East Holmes Academy. Climaxing the activities was the crowning of Miss Melanie Arinder as Homecoming Queen of 1973 by Mr. Robert E. Magee, assisted by Miss Janet Mitchell, 1972 Homecoming Queen. Escorting Miss Arinder was Wilkins Roan. Senior maids were Miss Sharon Duke, escorted by Ronny Pitts, and Miss Pegg - Kinard, escorted by Harold Ades. Junior maids were Miss Jeanine David, escorted by Dennis Coleman, and Miss Janet McCall, escorted by Billy Reeves. Sophomore maids were Miss Greta Allred, escorted by Billy Clark, and Miss Julie Wyman, escorted by Hugh McClellan. Freshman maid was Miss Ruthie Gangawere, escorted by Billy Williams. The flower girl, Lisa McDonald, was escorted by Rob Hyde, crown bearer. Acting as Mistress of Ceremonies was Miss Christy Hall. Concluding the night ' s activities was a dance held in the Raider gvm with entertainment provided by Bastille. An enjoyable time was had by all as the very .successfid 1973 Homecoming came to a close.
