ALLEN E BACON Superintendent of Wilkes Barre City Schools since 1934 Allen E Bacon Will remain foremost in the thought of all in this community as a man who has devoted his career and life to the betterment of public education In 1911 Mr Bacon began his career as a teacher in Wilkes Barre High School Know Iames M Coughlii High Schooll and later served as principal of Grant Street Elementary School G A R Memorial High School and Meyers High School after which he was appointed Superintendent of the City Schools Never forgotten will be his many contributions to public education his conscientious guidance as a teacher and principal his enviable record as a member of the school board and his unfailing service to the entire community. It is our privelege here at Coughlin to pay tribute to you Mr. Bacon teacher principal and leader.
