It was a season of surprises and upsetsg and, the Crusaders, under the expert guidance of their coach, Mr. Peel, played an interesting season. The most outstanding game was played against an undefeated GJ-LR. Eleven. The Red and Blue entered this contest as the underdogs. However, a determined backfield and an unflinching line brought the crowds to their feet cheering as the Coughlin Squad took command early in the game and through constant plugging toppled the Grenadiers to the tune of 20 to 7. Of the nine games which were scheduled for the Red and Blue in the Wyoming Valley Conference, five end- ed in our favor. This percentage entitled the Crusaders to third place in the Valley Conference listings. The city title broke in a three-way split. Sam Carpenter, one of Coughlin's outstanding line- men, represented Coughlin on the All-Scholastic Foot- ball Team. This team is chosen by prominent figures in the local sports world. The members of this team are chosen for their ability and are picked from all schools in the Valley Conference. We Want to thank the team for their fine work and Wish them and their coaches an equally successful Season next year. First row lleft to ri-ghtlz Linker, M.
