The FHA girls held their annual District Sweetheart Banquet in Pearsall, at which time they elected a District E Sweetheart. Our own out in Loredo, Devine, Pear- March 8 the All-District Basketball Teams were announced by the EL VAQUERO. Kenneth Cox, Joe Mills, Mary Sue Myers, and Laverne Plocek made the first teams and caused Cotulla to place more on the first teams than any other school in the District. February 7 was the date of the La Salle County Sixth Annual Livestock Show. Since practically all the stock is shown by school kids, school was dis- missed, The following Friday twenty-five FFA boys went to San Antonio to see how the city puts on a stock show. V March 22 , FFA members and their dates went to the winter Garden District Banquet in Lytle. Carol Ann Stokes, Cotulla Chapter Sweetheart, was a finalist in -the selection of FFA District Sweet- heart. Another im- portant FFA ac- wem tivity was the Father-Son Banquet, March 29. Band Rates Two Plus' screamed EL VAQUERO headlines and the band was screaming it too. After many hours of hard practice and hard work the Cow- boy Band went to San Antonio to the UIL Region VI contest and came home with a record to be proud of, Good night' we only wanted , , . to take your picture! More definite plans concerning the one and only Iunior-Senior Banquet were announced early in March.
