To the members of the Jumor Class we leave the fun of measuring for caps and gowns, attending F, T, A. Convention, and playing in the snow - the latter being a pleasure seldom enjoyed in Cottonwood. as Ruby Lee McCardle leaves her quiet ways to Jeanette McCard1e. Bobby Harrison bequeaths his ability to stay out of shape during football season to Willie Ray McCall, Robert Love leaves his love for classes under Mrs. Maddox to Larry Love. Mary Ann McCord leaves her love for algebra to anyone who is crazy enough to take it. Joseph Anderson bequeaths his, from town to school, taxi service to Charley Miller, Bernice Skipper leaves his ability to go out every night and still pass to anyone crazy enough to try it. Doyle Glover leaves his ability to quit school, go into service, then come back to school and pass to anyone who wants to try it. Jean Bush Morris bequeaths her ability to get married in her junior year and still finish school to Maureen Whitman, Carl Guy and Nelson Hooper just leave - they hope, Kenneth McCall and Rex Womack leave their study habits to Hardy Whitehead and Clyde Jackson, Thelma Arnold leaves the chair and book that she sits on in typing to Larry Kirkland, Lynda Sellers leaves her artistic talents to Linda Carol lewis. R. Q. Taylor leaves his ability to win a scholarship to anybody good enough. Shirley Paulk wills her ability to take second year algebra and not - graduate from school with a bold head to anyone crazy enough to take it, Madeline Hopkins leaves her squabby figure and graceful movements to Sara Johnson, Regina Armstrong, and Lucy Moore pass on their books to anyone in the Junior Class who can find them and hang on to them, Q Regina and Lucy have never been able to do so,J Jeanette Watford wills her nickname T -Bone to Beverly Jenkins, Signed, and sealed and declared to be the last will of the Senior Class of 1958, Robert Love - Class Attomey FAKE ' STEPHENSON. We, the dignified and intelligent Senior Class of 1958, though exhausted by long years of tiring study and cramming, nevertheless do declare ourselves to be of sound minds, Q though some think different,J and do declare this to be our last will and Testament. All former wills are this day declared null and void, and this is the only true copy of the said document. To our beloved principal and our homeroom teacher we leave all our pleasures of this past school year, We will to the Junior Class our wom, but treasured, homeroom and the responsibility of occupying it. The members of the senior class make the following requests: Althea Meadows leaves her ability to be tardy and get away with it to Geraldine Taylor. Yvonne Smith wills her ability to giggle when there's nothing funny to anybody as silly as she is. Jerry Hicks bequeaths his ability to make 60 in algebra to Clyde Jackson, Billy Cameron leaves his ability to skip football practice and feel good on game night to Mickey Battles. ,J Dorman Whitehead leaves his athletes foot to Jimmy Hammitt who is always stealing shoes. Eulan Holland wills his outstanding defensive football playing to Mickey Battles. Marvette Calloway leaves his curly hair to Lamar Jones. Royce Johnson passes on his position as Mr. Ramage's assistant to Larry Kirkland. Jo Ann Watson leaves her timid ways and ability to be absolutely quiet in class to Janice Askew. Virginia Forehand leaves her ability to pass Mrs. Maddox's science classes to Mary Jean Camp, Jo Ann Mixon bequeaths the title of Miss Cottonwood to Maureen Whitman who seems to be stuck with second place, Evelyn Mathis leaves her giggles to Ann McDanniel although she srrely doesn't need them, Joyce Mathis leaves her ability to get a boyfriend and hold him to Ann Hayes. Mary Ellison and Barbara Rhodes will their Long-Tall-Sally' look to Margie Holland and Judy Granger, Bud Sellers leaves nothing, he is afraid he will need it all later on, Ella Ruth Whitehead wills her ability to decorate, undecorate, and redecorate the third finger on her left hand to Joleen Whitehead, .ll-la 4 Q. Sf-4' As always, we leave to the students of next year the good meals prepared by Mrs, Snell, Mrs. Parker, and Mrs. Bruner.

THELMA ARNOLD I One aftemoon as I sat in the den of my home in Ocala sewing on a dress for my girl, the doorbell rang. I almost fainted with surprise when, upon 'L ' opening the door, I saw who was there. It was none other than my former 5 classmate, Althea Meadows, who is now married to Norwood Jackson, After So' i ,A K' showing her around my new home, we settled down in the living room and she . told me of the whereabouts of all our classmates. Having lived in Cottonwood f X all her married life, she knew what had happened in the last few years. lt 1 seems as if we have another Mrs, Jackson - the former Jo Ann Watson who is now the mother of four mischievous boys, She and her husband have no finan- cial worries now, because he has half-interest in J. Sc C. Air Base. Billy Cameron has the other half, They both are specialists in electrical engineering, Mary Ann McCord, who is now married to Charles Ray Miller, is acting as secretary for him as he is owner of a typewriter company Althea told me also that Mary Ellison and Robert Love have completed their college education at Troy Both are teaching at Cottonwood High, Robert being the prmcipal R. Q Taylor has been a great football star for the University of Georgia and is now coaching for them Royce Johnson and Jerry Hicks are owners of a new trucking concern with main headquarters in Cotton wood Barbara Rhodes is working as their private secretary Evelyn Hodges the former Evelyn Mathis is workmg as a telephone operator with her husband who is also employed by the telephone company She leaves her three children at a nursery run by Madeline Hopkins It seems as if Joyce Mathis is gomg to be an old maid She's a photographer now and owns her own studio in Cottonwood Jeanette Watford is in charge of a chemistry laboratory in Pensacola, Florida while her bosom pal Virginia Forehand is teaching dancing in Hollywood Althea said that Eulan Holland and Ella Rllth Whitehead are marned now and that they own a very popular cafeteria in Cotton wood Jo Ann Mtxon IS teaching home economics at Cottonwood Kept McCall is distributor of Cabana Neutrina Q a valuable fur bearing anunal 5 Joseph Anderson has a garage in Cottonwood now He has so much business Carl Guy assists him m repairing cars A very interesting thing Althea told me was that Lynda Sellers is a designer for Wamer Bros in Hollywood Bemrce Skipper and Doyle Glover are the owners of South Alabama used car Lot Lucy Clayton formally Lucy Moore rs secretary for her husband who runs a milling company Regina Armstrong and Ruby Lee McCardle were always very close in school but they are separated now Regina being a missionary in Africa and Ruby Lee being owner of a dress shop Marvette Calloway has put up an experiment station for the farmers in Cottonwood and Shirley Paulk is a laboratory technician for him They have really been a big help to the farmers in the southem states Bobby Harrison owns a super market now He has a little boy who wants to be a football player because his daddy was when he was in school Dormon Whitehead who was in the Arr Natronal Guard when we were in high school is now a first lieutenant in the Air Force and has a private plane for his own Bud Sellers has a cattle farm and dairy near Cottonwood Yvonne Smith rs workmg with the Red Cross Jean Moms formally Jean Bush is traveling around the world with her husband who is in the Air Force As Althea and I talked we were suddenly interrupted by a noise at the door It was my daughter who had been playing with a neighbor Althea was very pleased to see her After playing w1th the child for a while Althea said she had to go She was on her way to Miami to Join her husband After she had gone, I sat back and thought happily of the good lives all our classmates had found for themselves Sponsored by Qian. 14 JOHN JACKSON DRY GOODS ALABAMA FURNITURE L I Jr I Cottonwood Alabama COMPANY A 5 Gracevrlle Flon da Cottonwood . . . , . . . , , , . . u I . .
