C ass Histor In 19h2 s me rather scared and small children started their first year in Cottonwood Public Schools. Of our l9Sh graduating class only seven began in the first grade. Miss Roberts, our teacher read the roll call something like this: Clifford Anderson, Ruth Ann Barck, Donald Driessen, Clifford Hanson, Dorothy Henry, David ldso, Marilyn Kolhei, Marylou Olson, Lester Palmer, Wesley Voth, and Marvel Woods. In second grade An Olson, and Donald Okrina joined our grade, this was also the year Mr. Olson came to Cottonwood as our new Superintendent. In third and fourth grade we had Miss Peterson as our teacher. Leonard Cravens, Ernest Hart and Emma Jean Javens joined our class that year. We were all very pleased in fifth grade when we could go upstairs for our classes. Quite a few new faces were introduced to us when Harriet Nelson, Gordon Carlson, Richard Wambeke, Lorraine Rigge, Donald De Crock, and Margaret Beacon entered. Remember our days in sixth grade? We spent most of the time copying from the dictionary, and pinning signs on the kids. I think some of us even remember a coat making a quick exit through the window. To help make the class more mischievous, Aloyus Barck, Dean Anderson, Ardys Pederson, Wally LeMon, Corrine Reinboldt, Shirley Johnson, Elsie Van Lerberghe, Geraldine Vande Voorde, Dorothy Kotval, Levine Olson, Ruth Huso and Wesley Knutson joined us that year. Finally we reached the 7th grade, and we became a part of homecoming, the large assembly and class parties. Our large class became a little larger in 7th and 8th grade when Bill Johnson, Percy Paradis, Donald Wam- beke, Charles Caron, Rodney Brown, Evelyn and Roland Woods were added to the daily roll call. Remember the days in Miss Herrlinger's English Class? In 9th grade we welco ed six new members, namely: Sharon Lewis, Donald DeMartelaere, Jeanetta Kolander, Arlen Rosvold, Gerald, Gloria, and Donald Erickson. In lOth grade we got our choice of typing and geometry, and this was also the year we served as waiters and waitresses at the Prom. Our Junior year kept us busy, for we had charge of the Prom. Our theme was NMother Goose On Paraden and I think we all had a lot of fun working on it. In spite of the rainy night we chose for our Prom, it turned out to be fun. We also gave a class play entitled Love Is In The Air . I don't think I have to remind you.of the fun we had after practice. Now at last we are on the final step of becoming Seniors. It has been a pleasant twelve years and well worth every minute. This has been a busy eventful year with sports activities, parties, Skip Day, a very nice Prom, and many other happenings to make this our busiest year in high school. we feel privileged to be the first class to graduate in our beautiful new gymnasium. The 25 Seniors in our graduating class hope you will miss ug just a small fraction of the amou t we shall miss you. Thank you students, teachigs and parents for making these some of the most memorable days in our e O 2 N ' 1 xx NWNQ I X f g.n,g'i ' MM? , xx , ffl' I . ff , 1 1 4
