The art class prepares to study a slide film of the outstanding paintings of the famous artists of our day. Cotter Students place in Contest James Karsina, junior, won second place for his drawing titled Ships . The contest was sponsored by the Art Club of Winona State Teachers' College. James received a cash award and his drawing was exhibited during the Teachers College Homecoming. Six other entries were also submitted by Cotter's art stu- dents, two of which were Janice Yakish and Karen Beyers. Schools in the southern area participated in the contest. James Karsina and Janice Yakish show their art entries to Karen Beyers.
