The Advent Wreath The Angel Gabriel was sent -is echoed throughout the halls of Cotter as the psalms are chanted when the Advent wreath ceremony is taking place. The four weeks of Advent are a preparation for Christmas, during which time the advent wreath is plac- ed in the hall of Cotter High School. On the wreath there are tour candles which represent the tour weeks in pre- paration tor Christmas, Each week an additional candle is lighted as we grow nearer to the merry day of Christmas. Following the lighting of the candle and the singing of the psalms the cer- emony is concluded with a joyous Christmas carol, The Advent wreath is a project of the C.S.lVl.C. James Lang- owski, treasurer of the C.S.lVl.C., is pictured lighting the first candle in the fourth week preceding Christmas. 7 O'l-learn, and Janice Grupa. k -+C O Q uf. bl' 'I Q., ,s 4? -A i Father Dittrnan read the prayers for the Advent Wreath ceremanv Pictured in the FRONT ROW gi , nging tl-ig songs arei Patricia Vondrasek, Gloria Wiley, Mariorie Wieczorck, Mary Stewart, Shirley Molozk, Mary Arm T'- E3 Page 35
