Class History We began the first of four of the most important years of our lives as Freshmen at Cory Rawson on September 7, 1964. At first we were amazed and befuddled, but soon we were in the swing of things. We looked up to our teachers and the upperclassmen to teach us, of course, the scholastic subjects, as well as how we were expected to act now as high-school students. Mrs. Zimmerman and Mr. Edie, our sponsors, were especially helpful and patient. On September 17 we assembled to hold our first class meeting. Ed Ridge, president; Dick Jones, vice-president; and Sue Loy, secretary were chosen as our officers. During the year we gained Ken Thomson to our class. He had a short stay though, as he, with Ed Thomson, left us before the year was ended. Our Sophomore year was started with much more knowledge of high-school life than the year before. We welcomed John Hunter, Dick Dunn, Susan Benton, and Mitsy Court- ney to our class during the year. We were sorry, though, to lose Judy Augsburger, Belinda Balister, Ruth Brewster, Dick Dunn, Larry Crist, Susan Benton, and Misty Courtney. Ear- ly in the year we once again voted for our officers. David Nessler, a Jeneranitte, was elected to be our president; along with Tom Moyer, the vice-president; Marilyn Niswander, the treasurer; and Anne Balmer, as the secretary. There were many highlights during our Sopho - more year. Some of these were: choosing class rings, BVC football and track champs, the class dance, and many other things that stand out in individual memories. We were fortu- nate to have Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Davies guide us through this eventful year. By the start of our Junior year we were a well acquainted and funloving group. We soon realized, with the help of our sponsors Mr. Rossman and Mr. Deeds, that this was to be a very important year. We very carefully selected our new class officers. The results showed Tom Moyec, as president; Dave Shafer, the vice-president; the treasurer was Dick Jones; and Carol Crew, the secretary. Our Junior year proved to be one of few dull mo - ments. It started with the receiving of our class rings. Soon after, our football team clinch- ed its second straight conference crown, and then the basketball team followed in its foot- steps. We were proud to give a very successful play in A Ready Made Family, under the guidance of Mrs. Wasbro and Mrs. Shindledecker. Ron Peterman and Jesse Gonozalas en- tered our class in 1967, but Jim Wilson had to leave us. The year was topped off as we pre- sented the Seniors with the Junior-Senior Prom. The theme was An Evening in Paris. After a super summer we found ourselves on the last leg of our high-school career. We know we have a lot to look forward to, but maybe now for the first time we looked back to the memories of all the fun we have had together. Through a year of many decisions and plans we are ably guided by Mrs. Wilson and Mr. Clevidence. We regained Judy Augsbur- ger to our class at the beginning of the year, but we lost Jesse Gonozalas. In our first meet - ing as Seniors we chose Mark Boehm to be our president. He is aided by vice-president Da- vid Nessler; secretary David Shafer; and the treasurer Dick Jones. For the third consecu- tive year our football team has won the BVC title. This, along with many other other hon- ors that our class will gain during the year, will always be remembered. We are all looking forward to the Prom and Commencement which will cap off the four most important and delightful years of our lives. -26-
